Steve Kenley

ABOUT

Steve Kenley is an accomplished professional musician with many years of experience playing guitar and harmonica and singing all over the United States. He now lives in the Washington DC area, and is, as well as a solo singer/guitarist. As a solo act, he plays for weddings, receptions, restaurants, bars, house parties, retirement communities and corporate, governmental and community events.

For weddings, Steve plays classical guitar arrangements of popular songs as guests are seated, and performs instrumentally or vocally for the processional, recessional and other points in the ceremony. He can also provide wired or wireless microphones and sound systems for the officiants and ceremony readers.

For pop music performances, Steve uses a looper and vocal harmonizer to expand his sound, providing multi-part vocal harmonies and extra instrumental voices. The result is one person who sounds like many. He plays ukulele as well, if the occasion calls for a Hawaiian vibe.

When he plays reggae/island/beach music, Steve sings and plays electric guitar to pre-recorded tracks that he has created, allowing him to sound like an entire band. Great stuff for an island-themed party. You can hear all these in the samples in the music player at the bottom of this page.

Steve plays music from standards to the 60s to current hits -- from the Beatles, Badfinger and Wilson Pickett, to Hank Williams Jr., Dwight Yoakam and Jimmy Buffett, to the Stray Cats and Stevie Ray Vaughn, to Train, the Lumineers, Ed Sheeran and Rihanna . Or your favorite song. Just ask.
